Brookline Banks Joins Coats for Kids as Corporate Partner
Brookline, MA, 10/16/06 – The employees of Brookline Bank have joined Anton’s Cleaners’ annual Coats for Kids winter coat collection drive as a Corporate Partner. As corporate partner, employees at all 16 Brookline Bank locations in the Greater Boston area will help Anton’s Cleaners reach its goal to collect 60,000 good, quality coats – the kind someone would give a friend – in this, the 12th anniversary year of Coats for Kids.
“Brookline Bank employees have a long tradition of supporting local organizations within their communities,” says Joseph Schmitt, Vice President of Marketing. “We see Coats for Kids as a great way to help those in our communities who otherwise might not be able to afford a decent winter coat this year. We look forward to doing our part to help Anton’s Cleaners exceed its goal.”
After collecting the coats, Brookline Bank employees will deliver them to Anton’s Cleaners or Jordan’s Furniture store locations. Anton’s will clean the coats free of charge and then distribute them through MASSCAP, Cradles to Crayons, Southern New Hampshire Services and Salvation Army service centers.
In addition to their participation in the Coats for Kids collection drive, Brookline Bank employees have a long tradition of supporting many local organizations within the communities including a recent $15,000 grant to Steps to Success, a Brookline-based organization with a comprehensive educational achievement program providing academic, social development and family support for low-income students and their families.Brookline Bank is one of a number of organizations participating in Coats for Kids as a Corporate Partner. Last year, the Coats for Kids program collected more than 55,000 coats, with a large number of those coming in through corporate partners.
