Brookline Bank Sponsors the Barry L. Price Rehabilitation
Center’s Extreme Makeover Project
Newton, MA, 08/10/06 – Brookline Bank announced that it has donated $5,000 to the Barry L. Price Rehabilitation Center to serve as a sponsor of the Center’s renovation project on their home located on Wiltshire Road in Newton.
The project is being done as part of WCVB-TV Channel 5’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition program. The program, based off of ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover, aids worthy organizations in renovation projects. The Price Center renovations will take place from August 22nd – 25th, 2006 and will feature volunteer construction teams from WCVB and other sponsors, as well as local contractors.
The Price center is a non-profit organization that provides support services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Price Center residents are provided opportunities to participate in community-based work, as well as treatment and living environments aimed to foster self-confidence and to maximize physical, emotional and intellectual capability. The Price Center supports people with developmental disabilities by encouraging personal growth and participation in the community through social, living and work experiences that respect individual preference and diversity.
“The Price Center does a great deal to help its residents, and this project will help give their Wiltshire Road residents a modern living space,” stated Paul Lewan, Brookline Bank Regional Manager and Newtonville Branch Manager. “We are honored to work with the Barry Price Center and WCVB on the ‘Extreme Makeover’ project.”
