BOSTON, MA (March 12, 2024) – Brookline Bank announced today that Evelyn Zayas, Branch Manager at the Bank’s Needham Heights office, was presented with a Community Champion Award at the Bank’s Retail Recognition Celebration, Tuesday, March 5th in Waltham.

A resident of Abington, Massachusetts, Zayas was recognized for her volunteerism on the Board of Trustees for Boston Day and Evening Academy, an exceptional alternative public charter school located in Roxbury.

“Evelyn volunteers with multiple organizations, providing priceless insight and wisdom to the groups they support,” said Rob Callahan, SVP and Regional Manager. “It’s my pleasure to join in recognizing Evelyn as a Brookline Bank Community Champion.”

Evelyn is also dedicated to the 4Star Dance Studio in Dorchester, which provides positive activities designed to keep youth off the streets and away from the influences of gangs in the area.

The Community Champion Award is presented annually to Brookline Bank employees in recognition of their community involvement outside of the workplace – to those who set themselves apart by being assets to their community through volunteerism.
